Superstar Headline Theatre Shows

Each evening, our headline acts John Barrowman, Lea Salonga, Ramin Karimloo and others will appear in the largest auditorium on the ship, The Royal Theatre. Artist shows are approximately 50-60 minutes long and performed three times across the cruise so that every guest will see every headline show. Seating is not allocated but runs festival style in terms of a first come first served basis. There is no need to book in the shows, as they will be allocated around your dining time and your show schedule will be communicated closer to the festival.

Hit Musical 'We Will Rock You'!

On Anthem of the Seas, we also have the West End and Broadway hit show 'We Will Rock You' (WWRY) also showing. WWRY is performed in it's full-length musical (approx 2 hours) and will also be shown 3 times for all guests, the same as all headline artists shows. Seaplex Concerts

Shows at Seaplex are revue-like / cabaret productions starring west end and broadway performers who are featuring in current west end musicals. The 2021 concert series will be announced in the coming months, however 2019 included a variety of shows showcasing the broad spectrum and genre that is Musical Theatre. Like the main theatre, all shows at Seaplex will be allocated to every passenger to ensure everyone can attend all featured shows.

Artist Q&A's

Enjoy intimate stories and insights at our several Artists Q&A sessions held throughout the cruise. In this casual and fun environment, you will hear never been told backstage tales and get the industry secrets from the movers and shakers from the Theatre world. Selected audience members will also get the chance to ask their own questions at these 45-60minutes sessions.

The Stages Academy

Enjoy unprecedented insight and access to dance, acting, make-up seminars, talks and workshops from leading West-End creatives who are currently working in the world of musical theatre. These are usually reserved for performers or people who pay a substantial fee for this exclusive access, however they are complimentary for all Stages guests. Examples of workshops have included; Acting through song demonstration, Bringing creative teams together, Being an understudy, Costume design, Set design, Casting a musical, Being in an Ensemble and Swing, Producing a musical today, plus much more.

Musical Theatre Theme Nights

Over the 4 nights, there will be at least 2 nights where guests will be able to dress up and immerse themselves into the world of theatre. Our 2019 festival had Ties and Tiaras which was an evening of enchantment and pure glamour on our formal night. The other night was Musical Characters, fun and free for all to dress up or as little as they liked. Regardless of the dress code, all theme nights are options, and guests are welcome to join in all the festivities whether you are in costume or not. Autograph Signing Sessions

Get your CD or poster signed and a personal photo from selected Artists at our autograph sessions. This is only applicable to certain artists, with the events advertised in the ships daily compass newsletter delivered daily to your cabin.

Standup Comedy Showtime

Not only will you enjoy the very best in musical theatre entertainment and leading musical artists from stage and screen, but also a headline comedian for an additional late-night comedy show. This is in addition to seeing the allocated musical shows. 2019 saw King of the Jungle Joe Pasquale steal the show with his hilarious performances. Musical Director Barry Robinson also interviewed Joe to a packed house Q&A session which audiences are still talking about.

The Stages Choir

The Stages Choir is an exclusive limited number audience participation event held onboard each year. Pre-registration is required and gives the audience to sing with like-minded people and create friends that may last a lifetime. With rehearsals held throughout the festival, the choir performs at various locations on board, culminating in performing a number on stage with a headline artist.

The Magic 8

Cast from over 1400 applicants, 8 of the most talented performers are cast each year for 'The Magic 8' specifically for Floating Festivals. Bringing together the best talent from around the globe, The Magic 8 feature throughout the festival, whether it be pop up performances on the deck or in the restaurants, in the main theatre before or accompanying headline artists. The Magic 8 are supported by a London's best team of stylists, hair, make-up and body artists to create cutting edge dance performances and unforgettable experiences for our guests!

Musical Theatre Trivia

How well do you know your musicals? With multiple theatre trivia hosted daily, test your wits against your fellow guests in everything from Name that Tune, Top 10 musicals of all time, to the Ultimate Musical Theatre Quiz. With Stages merchandise prizes to be won, and even more laughs to be had, these day time activities are a must-see.

The Glamour Lounge enables Stages guests to get make-up done by some of London and the West End's leading make-up artists.
